Lufthansa Miles Drop to 1.4¢ Each With Bonus Perks
Lufthansa Miles & More is running a mile-sale promotion through October 31st, pricing miles at 1.4 cents each when you buy the largest bundle: $2,200 for 150,000 miles. You're limited to one purchase at that rate. Smaller bundles cost closer to 2 cents per mile.
Why it matters: Lufthansa miles are among the hardest to stockpile in the industry because the program has almost no transfer partners. If you're sitting on a redemption you can't quite afford, this is one of the few ways to close the gap without manufactured spend or flights.
TPD take: The math only works if you have a specific redemption in mind and need to top off fast. Don't buy miles speculatively; this program doesn't reward hoarding.

Delta San Francisco to Bologna Under $1,000
Delta has roundtrip fares from San Francisco to Bologna starting at $727 in Basic Economy or $967 in regular economy. Travel is available January through mid-March 2027 for Sunday–Wednesday outbound and Tuesday–Friday return flights, with a Sunday stay required.
Why it matters: The $240 upgrade from Basic Economy buys seat selection, a checked bag, mileage earning, and the ability to change or cancel. For an international trip to Northern Italy, that's a meaningful protection.
TPD take: $967 all-in to Italy is solid pricing. Basic Economy on long-hauls is a trap; the extra $240 is worth it for flexibility and bags.

Capital One Business Travel Discount for Select Cardholders
Capital One Business Travel is offering targeted cardholders $200 off hotel stays or car rentals of $500 or more, booked by December 31, 2026. The discount works once per account and is consumed even if you cancel the reservation. Flights and activities don't qualify, and taxes and fees count toward the $500 minimum.
Why it matters: If you've got a Spark card and the offer lands in your account, 40% off a hotel or rental is strong enough to time around.
TPD take: Targeted offers are hit-or-miss, but check your Capital One Business Travel account. If you see it, use it before year-end.

Marriott Tests Upgrade Ranking List for Elite Members
Marriott is testing a mobile app feature that displays elite members' upgrade odds and their position on the waitlist before arrival. Early screenshots show members their ranking (e.g., "second in line") and the number of complimentary upgrades available. Paid Nightly Upgrade Awards get priority placement and don't appear in the public count.
Why it matters: Transparency is useful, but the feature also creates a natural pressure point to sell paid upgrades when the free count looks low.
TPD take: This is a smart move for guest communication and a smart move for Marriott's bottom line. Expect it to roll out broadly and for upgrade availability to mysteriously correlate with the timing of paid-upgrade sales.

Steal of the Day: Korean Air Chicago to Da Nang, Vietnam for $868
Korean Air is pricing roundtrip flights from Chicago to Da Nang, Vietnam at $868 all-in. No hoops, no restrictions, just full-service economy on a major carrier.
TPD take: Not a record-low, but a solid price to a destination most U.S. carriers don't serve nonstop. If you've been watching Da Nang or positioning for Hoi An, this window is worth taking.

Card of the Day: Amex Platinum and Leaders Club Transfer Partnership
American Express Membership Rewards just added Leaders Club (Leading Hotels of the World) as a transfer partner at a 4:1 ratio. A recent test booked the Hotel Chelsea in Manhattan for approximately 48,000 Amex points during a week when nightly cash rates reached $1,100. Leaders Club entry-level properties start around 4,500 points per night, meaning you can access quality hotels for roughly 18,000 transferred Amex points.
Why it matters: If you've got Membership Rewards sitting idle and want boutique hotels with character instead of chain loyalty, this is now a credible path.
TPD take: The 4:1 ratio isn't thrilling on its face, but the nightly values at quality independent properties make this worth checking for specific trips.
