Citi Adds Japan Airlines As 1:1 Transfer Partner (Limited 30% Transfer Bonus)

Citi launched Japan Airlines as a new transfer partner with a 30% bonus window running through October 24, 2026. Annual-fee cardholders receive 1,300 JAL miles per 1,000 ThankYou Points; no-annual-fee cardholders get 910 miles per 1,000 points.

The unusually long bonus window reflects JAL's year-round transfer promotions across multiple partners. If you have ThankYou Points earmarked for Japan travel, the math works—but there's no tactical reason to transfer before you have actual award bookings in hand.

Citi Updates Eligibility on Citi Strata Cards (Once Per Life, Was 48 Months)

Citi moved the Strata card family from a 48-month eligibility window to a once-per-lifetime rule. Anyone who has earned a welcome bonus on any Citi Premier or Strata card is now permanently locked out of future Strata bonuses.

This change applies only to the Strata lineup; Citi's co-branded cards like AAdvantage still operate on the 48-month cycle. If you were planning to cycle a Strata card in 2–3 years, that strategy no longer works.

Chase Freedom Q1 2027 Categories: Grocery & Streaming

Chase announced its Q1 2027 rotating categories early via cardholder activation emails: both the Freedom and Freedom Flex will earn 5x points on grocery stores and streaming services.

This marks consecutive quarters of grocery bonuses, a pattern Chase has not pursued recently. If traditional grocery stores don't fit your spend, buying gift cards at supermarkets and using them elsewhere captures the 5x rate on items you'd buy anyway.

JetBlue Status Match: Get Three Months of Mosaic Status, Challenge to Extend Through 2027

JetBlue is matching elite status from six airlines into its Mosaic program with a 3-month trial period. If you earn enough tiles during those 90 days—10 for base Mosaic, 25 for Mosaic 2, or 40 for Mosaic 3—the status extends through December 31, 2027.

You earn 1 tile per $100 spent on JetBlue flights or per $1,000 charged to a JetBlue co-brand card. For frequent JetBlue flyers or cardholders, hitting the extension threshold is feasible without significant extra spending.

The sale covers November through early December and mid-January through early March 2027. All bookings require a Sunday night stay and must be made at least 7 days in advance. The extra $70 for regular economy only makes sense if you need a checked bag and schedule flexibility.
