Singapore Airlines cuts award prices 30% including U.S. routes

Singapore Airlines is running a 30% discount on select KrisFlyer awards for October 2026 travel, with U.S. routes included this month for the first time in a while. Book by September 30th. The discount applies automatically to eligible Saver awards—no code needed—but the pool of U.S. routes is limited and promotional inventory vanishes as bookings fill.

TPD take: If you've been holding KrisFlyer miles waiting for a useful redemption, this is a legitimate window. The 30% off is real value, but move fast. U.S. routes disappear first.

Chase Freedom unlocks 5% back on groceries and dining through Q4

Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardholders earn 5x points on grocery purchases, dining, and Red Cross donations in Q4 2026, up to $1,500 in combined quarterly spending. Walmart and Target don't code as grocery. Freedom Flex holders can add complexity by paying at participating restaurants through Paze, which stacks with Paze's 10x offer for 17x total—though Paze caps at $1,500/month and the quarterly category caps separately.

TPD take: Straightforward 5x earning on two spending categories most people hit anyway. The Paze trick works if your restaurants accept it, but the stacking caps mean you're not getting 17x on unlimited spend. Do the math on your usual spots.

AmEx YouTube TV offer returns for third redemption

American Express is offering $20 statement credit for $39.99+ spent on YouTube TV, redeemable 3 times through 12/31/2026 for $60 total back. A separate offer gives $35 off $240 spent on NFL Sunday Ticket (expires 10/16/26).

TPD take: If you're already paying for YouTube TV at the base tier, this effectively covers half the cost for three months. It's not groundbreaking, but it's free money if the service is already in your budget.

Delta San Francisco to Valencia, Spain: $612 basic economy, $832 regular economy roundtrip

Delta has San Francisco–Valencia flights for $832 roundtrip in regular economy, including seat assignment, carry-on, and a checked bag. The $612 Basic Economy option blocks advance seat selection, charges $85 each way for the first checked bag, earns no miles, and is non-changeable and non-refundable. Travel windows: mid-October through early December, or mid-January through April 2027, Sundays–Wednesdays only with a Sunday night stay required.

TPD take: $612 is cheap, but Basic Economy's bag fees and no-earn structure eat into the savings fast. At $220 more, regular economy pays for itself on the first roundtrip if you need a bag or care about miles.

Steal of the Day: Wells Fargo business checking, no direct deposit required

Wells Fargo is offering new business checking customers $400, $550, or $825 bonuses depending on deposit size ($2,500, $10,000, or $25,000 respectively), held for roughly 30 days. No direct deposit requirement—rare for bonuses this size. Available online or in branch. No expiration date listed; offer could disappear.

TPD take: Act now. Bank bonuses this size without direct deposit hoops don't stick around, and the lack of expiration usually means that.

Card of the Day: Hilton Honors Amex with points plus free night award

American Express has boosted the Hilton Honors welcome offer to include both points and a free night award valid at properties up to 250,000 points per night—including Waldorf Astoria and Conrad properties. The offer runs through January 13, 2027.

TPD take: Real runway here, not artificial urgency. If you stay at Hiltons and don't hold the card, this is one of the program's better annual offers.
