Meijer mPerks: 10,000 Points on $100 Mastercard Gift Card
What happened: Meijer is offering 10,000 mPerks points when you buy a $100 Mastercard gift card through July 28. One per account.
Why it matters: At checkout redemption rates, that's roughly a $10 credit—enough to cover most of the activation fee. If you were already planning to liquidate gift cards or spend on a grocery-bonus card, this is one of Meijer's better promos.
The TPD take: Clip the digital coupon and move fast. This expires Monday.

Bank of America: $175 Retention Bonuses (Even on No Annual Fee Cards)
What happened: Bank of America is widely offering $175 statement credits to cardholders who initiate account closure, even on cards with no annual fee. Trigger it via mobile app or desktop chat; requires $1,500 spend within 90 days.
Why it matters: That's an 11.67% return on top of normal card earnings, and you don't need to call in or navigate retention scripts.
The TPD take: Threatening to close a card you might have kept anyway just became a low-friction play. Worth the 90-day spend if you were borderline on keeping it.
Air Canada: Portland–Hong Kong, $776 Roundtrip, All-In
What happened: Air Canada is selling roundtrip PDX–HKG for $776 including taxes and a checked bag. Travel September through mid-October, Monday–Thursday only, booked at least 14 days out. Sample: October 21.
Why it matters: Trans-Pacific roundtrips with luggage included rarely hit this price. Availability is thin and fares move fast.
The TPD take: If Hong Kong is already on your list and the fall dates work, book today. Don't count on this lasting more than 48 hours.

Qatar Airways: New Avios Redemption Restrictions (Narrow Status Carveout)
What happened: Qatar Airways confirmed a narrow exception to its new rules restricting third-party award bookings: Gold or Platinum members of the Qatar Airways Privilege Club can book for others. Starting August, they can do so online; for now, they need to call. Status with other Oneworld carriers (Alaska, American) doesn't apply.
Why it matters: The carveout exists, but the entry cost is high: the Qatar Airways Privilege Club Infinite Card costs $499/year with a weak welcome bonus and only grants Gold status for 12 months.
The TPD take: Unless you already hold Qatar status or were seriously considering that card, this barely moves the needle. The restriction itself still sucks.
Dell: 15x Points Today via Capital One Shopping & Offers
What happened: Capital One Shopping and Capital One Offers are both running 15% or 15x miles back at Dell Technologies today only. It's the Offer of the Day on Capital One Shopping (scroll the homepage to find it).
Why it matters: If you have Amex Business Platinum Dell credits to burn, this stacks nicely. Capital One Shopping activates the bonus; paying with Amex sometimes plays better than the Offers portal alone.
The TPD take: This is a one-day window. Activate via Capital One Shopping, then charge the Amex.
Steal of the Day: Choice Privileges Points at 40% Off
What happened: Choice Privileges is selling points at a 40% discount through August 28, bringing the per-point cost to $0.0062.
Why it matters: Solid pricing—but only if you already know what you're redeeming for.
The TPD take: Speculative point buying is a sucker's game. Price your exact stay first, confirm award availability, then buy what you need. Don't buy in hopes of a future deal.
Card of the Day: United Business Card (Up to 110K Bonus Miles)
What happened: United Business Card is offering up to 110,000 bonus MileagePlus miles: 100,000 after $5,000 spend in 3 months, plus 2,000 Premier Qualifying Points, plus 10,000 more miles for adding an authorized user.
Why it matters: This is the highest welcome bonus in United's co-brand card portfolio, and the offer has been extended.
The TPD take: If you need a United business card and can hit the spend, this is the time.
